Brian Tracy the leading leadership coach once said, “The potential of the average person is like a huge ocean unsailed, a new continent unexplored, a world of possibilities waiting to be released and channeled toward some great good.” The first rule to unlocking your potential is to understand that more abilities lies within you waiting to be released.
You must personally believe, agree and discover that you possess more capability than you are currently expressing. Until you have the full understanding of your potential, you cannot fully maximize your performance.
What you do. Virtually, in everything you do as a person – performance is how best you are doing it. But potential is how best you can still do it.
What you know. When it comes to knowledge, performance is what you know but potential is what you are capable of knowing beyond what you know already.
What you become. In becoming your best in life, performance is what you have become but potential is what you are capable of becoming.
All we are not stares back at what we are.
– W.H. Auden
The real challenge here now is: Moving from your present level of performance in what you do, what you know and what you have become to your greater potential of what you are capable of doing, knowing and becoming. That’s what unlocking your potential to maximize your performance is all about.
I believe all of us and it does not matter the level which we are performing now, we can still do better, know better and become more than what we are presently. It’s always a challenge to me. And it must be a challenge to you as well if you desire to move pass the level you are operating now.
Potential means nothing if you don’t do anything with it
I just want you to agree with me that, this is not all you can do, this is not the greatest knowledge you can have and this is not all that God wants you to be in life and destiny. There’s more to your life if you care discover more.
I’ll be sharing with you in the next post how you can really unlock your potential to do more, know more and become more than you are now. My desire and prayer is that each of us will fully become who God wants us to be. We will not fall short of it.
