The power of seasoned words cannot be overemphasized. It comes always  on time, in season, the exact time it is needed.

No wonder the Bible says: “Let your speech be with grace, seasoned with salt; that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man (Colossians 4:6).

Individual needs differ and require specific gracious word. The power of word can be positively explored when our words are GRACIOUS.

Can gracious word do anything? Well, let’s see what the gracious seasoned words can do.

“Behold, thou hast instructed many and thou hast strengthened the weak hands, thy WORDS have upholden him that was falling and thou hast strengthened the feeble knees, Job 4:3,4.

Gracious words instructs

Behold, thou hast instructed many”

“Where no counsel is, the people fall… Pro 11:14. Information rules the word is a popular saying. In achieving anything in life, there is need for instruction (counsel).

Godly counsels or instructions can get problems solved and restore normalcy into a stormy and confused situation.

The case of Joseph is an example of this, Gen 41:33-36, “Let Pharaoh do this” and he gave instruction that prevented Egypt from falling into avoidable famine and with that he also saved a generation.

Gracious words strengthens

“Thou hast strengthens the weak hands”

“And he answered him, pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them and without fail recover all, so David went…” 1 Sam 30:8b, 9a.

David and his mighty men who were adult and warriors had earlier wept until there was no strength for them again. In order words, they were worn out because I don’t know the strength required to weep! However, gracious restored their strength making them to pursue, overtake and recover all that they have lost.

Uphold the fallen

“Thy words have upholden him that was falling”

“But I have prayed for you…”Luke 22:32, 33. What wonder the word can do! It doesn’t say thy hands uphold him that was falling but thy WORDS!

Gracious words can lift a falling fellow making them to be sustained in the race.

Satan was interested in sifting Peter away but Jesus spoke the gracious, soothing and sustaining words to him, with this, he stood for Christ and did wonders in the name of Jesus.

Strengthens the feeble knees

“Thou hast strengthened the feeble knees”.

In the race of life, knees might become weak due to several experience, memories of defeat, failure, disappointment, discouragement, etc. however, gracious words supply the strength that is needed to carry on.

Source of Gracious Word

The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary; He wakeneth morning by morning, He wakeneth my hear as the learned” (Isaiah 50:4).

Gracious word is always timely, active and effective. It comes from the Word Himself (John 1:1) and the Word was God. He is the source and He is always available.

Speak gracious words to yourself

Never mind what people are saying to you, “who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?” Lam. 3:37. It is the counsel of the Lord that will stand on your life. Speak gracious words to yourself always, decree great things to your life, family, children, ministry, business, nation, etc. and see things changing for better.

Speak graciously to others

Strengthen the weak, instruct and direct the confused and misled, restore hope to the hopeless, add values to lives, uphold the fallens and strengthen the feeble knees, build and not demolish

Believe what the WORD says about you and not what the WORLD says.

Stay blessed, relevant and lifted! Shalom.
