Leadership is a noble calling. But it’s a call to deadly dedication. Leaders must first die to live. The Bible says, To live is to die and that’s true about leadership. To lead is to die. If you are not ready to die, you are not ready to lead. See what Jesus said in John 12:24MSG
“Listen carefully: Unless a grain of wheat is buried in the ground, dead to the world, it is never any more than a grain of wheat. But if it is buried, it sprouts and reproduces itself many times over. In the same way, anyone who holds on to life just as it is destroys that life. But if you let it go, reckless in your love, you’ll have it forever, real and eternal.”
Leadership does not make much impact unless a leader is willing to die first. Leaders who are change agents are dead to pursuit of personal gains. Just like Jeremiah 45:5 says, “Should you then seek great things for yourself? Seek them not”
No leader becomes change agent who seeks great things for himself. Rather, it is about God. Every leader as change agent knows nothing about “I” but “Him” – It’s all about lifetime deadly dedication to the cause of Christ.
Leaders as change agents must be buried. Their pride, ambition, desire and agenda must be buried in total obedience and submission to the desire of the Master. It is when they are buried that they can sprout and reproduce the kind of results that will change their world for Christ.
God is calling leaders who wants to be change agents to have deadly dedication, reckless in love for God and His people in order to have the real and eternal life.
Leaders as change agents are dying to bring forth fruit. What about you?
