“It’s not the feelings, it is what you are going to do with the feelings”

God puts our feelings there. What you feel is just a sensory information to know whether something is right or wrong with you. This is the reason we must learn to take charge of our feelings, not the other way around.

Do you take charge of your feelings or you allow your feelings to take control of you?

Whether positive or negative, our feelings must not be allowed to run wild. We have heard so much about people who were overwhelmed with happiness and allowed the feelings of happiness to ruin them. So it is not only about getting Stucked in our feelings alone, we must always be in charge of our feelings.

Are you feeling Stucked in life and finding it difficult to move on actively with your life?

Let me share few counsels that can help you to take charge of your feelings.

DO SPIRITUAL ENQUIRIES

Whenever your feelings get in the way and you don’t have the motivation to move on again, make some enquiries in the spirit.

Like I said earlier that feelings informs us of something worthy of notice. They call our attentions and raise our awareness to what is happening from the outside that affected our inside.

The best way to handle such feelings is to engage our spirit in a search for a discovery of what God is trying to say to us. When the discovery comes and corrective measures are put in place, we will be in charge to move on and not allow our feelings to keep us down.

This is what 2 Corinthians 7:9-11 calls sorrow to repentance. The kind of feelings that works out repentance to salvation in a godly sort.

REMEMBER YOUR PAST WINS

How often do you remember God’s faithfulness in your life from where you are coming from?

Another way to move on when your feelings get stucked is to always learn to remember your past wins.

There were times in your past when you faced terrible situations, yet God gave you victory. You won and that’s why you are still alive today to read this article.

Things are not as bad as you think when you remember how God has been faithful to you in the past.

One of the ways God always help me to move on when my feelings get Stucked is through this highly inspiring hymn composed by Johnson Oatman, Jr who found a way to preach the gospel by writing not less than 200 songs every year when he was alive.

Oatman died in Norman, Okla in 1922. But his songs ceased not to minister to millions everywhere in every nation.

May you find the comfort of the Holy Spirit through this one of Oatman’s songs has it always blessed me.

When upon life billows you are tempest tossed,

When you are discouraged thinking all is lost.

Count your many blessings name them one by one.

And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.

Count your blessings, name them one by one,

Count your blessings, see what God has done,

Count your blessings, name them one by one,

And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.

So amid the conflict, whether great or small.

Do not be disheartened, God is over all;

Count your many blessings, Angels will attend,

Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.

I like to encourage you to engage in spiritual enquiries and remember your past wins.

It may be painful today, but God is also faithful today, tomorrow and forever.

May you receive divine strength to move on towards the fulfillment of your glorious Destiny.
