how to make impossible dreams come true

The greatest fulfillment in life is doing what God wants you to do that you think you cannot do. Sometimes people have certain dreams that looks impossible becoming true. Personally, I love dreaming impossible dreams. Though challenging, stretching, overwhelming, challenging and most times highly demanding as dreaming an impossible can be. Yet, there’s nothing adventurous as daring to dream an impossible dream.

Dare to Dream Big

Impossible dreams are big dreams that takes only God to help bring to reality. Recently, I read about Rick Warren, senior pastor of Saddleback  Church and author of Purpose Driven Life who talked about the secret of Saddleback during the thirty-five years anniversary celebration.

Rick said, “It is an undeserved success, the glory goes to God who supplies Grace. But we dare to dream big dreams in the past thirty-five years.” He therefore encouraged the Church that the next phase of their journey as a church will require that they dream big dreams for God. The implication here is that, they must take another step of faith to prepare for greater things God will do in the future.

Take a Step of Faith

Making impossible dreams come true require taking a step of faith. It is our step of faith that activates, provokes and releases God’s help that can make any God-given dream come true.

Step of faith means we do what God asks us to do even when it seems nothing is changing for better around us. In Luke 17:14, Jesus told the lepers who cried to Him from afar off to go and show themselves to the Priests. And the Bible says, “As they went they were cleansed.”

If they hadn’t gone as commanded, probably waiting for cleansing before taking the step, they would have missed their miracles. Likewise, we must not wait until we see our dreams come true before we believe and take steps. Our dreams will never come true until we are able to believe God’s and act on it in the direction of our expectations.

The Challenge is the Courage to Make a Move

Why sit we here till we die? (2 Kings 7:3 KJV).  It is a dangerous thing to sit and expect dreams to come true. The only end result of sitting is death. Change does not happen when we sit, it happens when we move.

Are you sitting or moving? It may look impossible, but every move we make toward our dreams reduces the magnitude of its impossibility. You will never know how far God can take you until you stop sitting and start moving in the direction of your dream.

Choose a more Honourable Risk

There are three sides to risk taking. Going back to compromise, sitting in a spot doing nothing and moving forward to confront your challenges . But one is more honourable than the other two. If we say, ‘We’ll go into the city’—the famine is there, and we will die. And if we stay here, we will die. So let’s go over to the camp of the Arameans and surrender. If they spare us, we live; if they kill us, then we die”  (2 Kings 7:4). The third option has better advantage.

They went, moved forward in spite of their fears and they were not killed. They were not even spared. God only worked on their behalf. He helped them when they made the right decision to go in the direction of their dream, no matter how impossible it appeared to be.

They succeeded. The tide turned for them. They entered into unprecedented abundance. The outcasts became agents of good news 2 Kings 7:9). The irrelevant became relevant. Impossible dream turned to a reality.

It will happen for us, too. But we must…
