Fight To Make Your Dream A Reality (3)

In the fight to make your dream a reality, one thing you must overcome is discouragement. Every one needs encouragement, even the greatest among us.

Discouragement is a killer of courage. It is anti-courage. It paralyzes the confidence needed in taking steps forward towards the execution of your God-given dream.

But among other causes of discouragement, there is a particular aspect you must watch out for if you are going to maintain the courage needed to fight to make your dream a reality.

  • Allow God’s Word to Fuel Your Courage and Determine Your Action

Don’t seek human opinion whenever God’s instruction to you is clear about something He wants you to do.

Most times, people cannot see what God is saying about your life or the dream He has showed you. So, when you choose to see your dream through human perspectives, you may end up getting discouraged by their opinion.

That’s exactly what happened to the Israelites in Deuteronomy 1:10, when God expressly instructed them to go up and possess their dream land. He told them not to fear or get discouraged.

But in the next verse, Deuteronomy 1:11, the people said, “We will send men before us, and they shall search us out the land, and bring us word again by what we must go up and into what cities we shall come.”

Do you see that? After God gave them His word, they needed the word of men again.

What word again do you need from men when God’s instruction has been made clear to you?

It is a display of unbelief and disobedience to God when we don’t receive His word as the final injunction.

Some time ago, I was in a serious thinking over an issue bothering my mind, then it occurred to me that I should mention the problem to one of my mentors. But the Holy Spirit restrained me and said, “Should you think of asking man instead of asking Me what to do?

Please don’t get me wrong. It is not bad to seek counsel from trusted sources. But most times, we don’t trust God enough to depend on His word.

The right way to become immune to discouragement of any kind is faith in what God has said to us. Believe what God says about what lies ahead of you. Follow God’s strategy. Trust Him completely.

Even when your challenges look bigger than your ability, the best thing you can do is to draw strength from the word of God. Be confident in what His word says.

If God says you should stand up and pursue your vision, rise up and move immediately. That’s how to fight to make your dream a reality.

  • Follow God’s Plan. It’s always the Best.

Never reject God’s plan in the pursuit of your great dreams. Jimmy Swaggart said, “If we plan for ourselves, in some way, the plans are always wrong. “If we allow God to plan for us, His plans are guaranteed of success.”

The discouragement that defeated the Israelites and hindered them from seeing the reality of the promise land came because they put off the plan of God and went after their own plans.

I want to assure you that, God’s plan properly obeyed and fully followed will stir up courage in you. Discouragement has a link with unbelief and disobedience, and you need courage to fight to make your dream a reality.

Determine to obey God fully even when it clashes with other people’s opinion. Then, you are on the path to making your dream a reality.
